Bryson is getting into a routine!

It's Bryson's third week at daycare and we're getting into a routine! He's already 13 weeks old! Bryson typically only sleeps 3 hours at the most during the day because of all the activity at daycare. I have been doing drop-off and Tony has been doing pickup-up from daycare. Bryson sleeps until 7pm, then it's playtime and bath time and then he's off to bed around 8:30pm. He slept for 5 hours straight for a couple nights, so we're hoping that continues and he'll continue to sleep longer and longer!

Bryson is the second smallest in the infant room and the girls have been holding him when Tony goes to pick him up pretty much every day! Today when I dropped him off, one of the daycare girls walked over and he gave her a big smile! It's nice to know that he enjoys being there and it's fun for him!

Bryson absolutely loves his toy butterfly "Buddy." He smiles so big every time he sees it! His other favorite toy is his alligator rattle. For the first time, he held it in his hands :) Last weekend we visited Jake and Lisa and Bryson was able to see his buddies Caden and Colten. He enjoyed playing with new toys and seemed to really like the plastic chicken bone :) He definitely takes after Dad!!!

Bryson heads to daycare!

Bryson went to daycare for the first time today! Tony and I both brought him so we could learn the routine of the daycare and to make sure that Bryson would be comfortable in his new environment. It was definitely harder on Mom and Dad than Bryson that's for sure! I had tears before we even left the house and I know that I wasn't alone :)

Once we were signed in to daycare, the teachers showed us around and we dropped off extra outfits, his blanket, and extra binky. When we set Bryson down in the room, the first little girl that came over to peek at Bryson in his car seat was obviously sick and had a runny nose :(

When I handed Bryson over to the teacher, he gave a big smile, almost to reassure Mom and Dad that he would be fine! Bryson only slept 3 hours the entire day!! I called the daycare two times and Bryson did was doing great! The teachers said that Bryson was busy looking around and watching all the business of the infant room!

When I picked Bryson up after work, he was busy having a bottle with one of the teachers. He was so tired, when we got home he fell asleep immediately! We hoping that he will sleep for 5 hours tonight!!

Tomorrow, Bryson and I are spending the day snuggling before he has to go back to daycare on Thursday.

Mom is heading back to work!!

I am enjoying the last couple days of my maternity leave! I am going back to work on Valentines Day and am planning to work a reduced schedule for the first three weeks. It's going to be so hard to leave him at daycare and I worry that he will be scared and he won't know where Mom is! It just breaks my heart to leave him, but I know that it will be good for him to be socialized with other babies and I know that he will adjust perfectly! It will definitely be harder on Tony and myself than Bryson!

Today, Bryson and I are going to daycare to fill out paperwork and to drop off his supplies, diapers, wipes, etc, and to meet all of his new friends and caretakers! I am nervous for some reason, but I keep telling myself that he will be fine!!!

Trip to ND!

Bryson and I made the long journey to ND to spend some quality time with Grandma and Auntie. We had an absolutely fantastic time!!! Bryson is such a good little traveler and only woke up once during the drive to Grand Forks. When he did wake up, he really liked to look around to see what was going on!

Bryson loved spending time with Grandma! When Grandma would talk to Bryson and he would smile back instantly :) Grandma spent her time spoiling Bryson and even had a big bag of clothes for him!! Monday night, Bryson visited his Great-Great Auntie in Grand Forks which was really fun! It really made me realize how much my Grandparents would have loved to have met Bryson, but I know they are looking down on us and they will always have a special place in out hearts!

On Tuesday we went to visit my Godmother near Grafton, ND. It was fun bringing Bryson to the area where I spend my entire childhood! Afterwards, we drove to Auntie Farrah's where she also spoiled Bryson and gave him the cutest hat!!

Bryson played nicely with his cousins and they even gave Bryson a kiss before they went to school the next day! Jocelynn and Carsten were so cute with Bryson!! During the trip, Bryson was not very interested in taking a nap, partly because I think that he didn't 'want to miss anything that was going on!

Auntie Farrah even trimmed Bryson's finger nails and toe nails because they were getting long and the last time that Tony and I tried to trim them we both cut his little finger! :( It was absolutely horrible!!! Auntie took great care and patience cutting them and it was clear to see what makes her such a great nurse!! While at Farrah's, Grandma took out my baby pictures so we could see the similarities.

On Wednesday we made the trip back home! Bryson was exhausted from the trip! I had to wake him up in Alexandria to give him a bottle and change his diaper. Bryson was in such a good mood when we stopped, I couldn't help but laugh at how cute he was being!!

He fell right back asleep and didn't wake up until he was in the house! It was hard for Bryson to be away from Dad for such a long time, and it was clear that Bryson missed his Dad! When Bryson saw Tony, he gave him the biggest smile!!! He kept smiling the entire night, we laughed because we were pretty sure his cheeks were going to get sore!! It was clear that Bryson was happy he was at home with Dad :)

Bryson is 2 months old!!!

I am pretty sure that Tony would agree, the best gift we have ever received is a smile from Bryson!! There's nothing that his smile can't fix!! He loves getting his diaper changed and smiles the entire time!! Also, when Bryson spits out his pacifier, Tony and I say "You don't need the stinkin' binkie" and Bryson smiles every time!! He thinks it's the funniest thing!! Bryson is such a happy, fun baby, we just love spending every moment with him!! Every morning before Tony goes to work, he goes into Bryson's room to say goodbye, and Bryson gives Dad a big smile if he is awake :) I can't think of a better way to start the day!

This week, Bryson and I went to the mall to look for some new glasses. Every pair of glasses that I tried on I would show Bryson the frames and he would smile so big!! I was trying on frames that I typically wouldn't purchase, such as blue and bright red and Bryson thought it was the funniest thing!! We had so much fun, he's definitely Mom's little shopper!!

Yesterday, Bryson had his two month wellness visit with Dr. Burt. Bryson now weighs 12 pounds 3 ounces and is in the 62nd percentile for weight! He is now 23 inches long and is in the 51st percentile and 65th percentile for head circumference. Most babies eat 4 ounces at this age, but Bryson is already eating 6 ounces and sometimes even more than that!! The first couple days after Bryson was born, Tony and I thought that Bryson had diaper rash on his bottom and since it got a little bigger I asked the doctor thinking that perhaps it was a birth mark and she confirmed that indeed it is! :) It's pretty cute I must say!! Bryson also made the doctor laugh throughout his visit because he constantly smiled at her. It's pretty clear that Bryson likes to flirt with the girls :)

Bryson had to get three shots at his wellness visit and was very brave!! I think that I cried more than he did :( Once we got home, Bryson began to cry every time that he moved his legs so I called the nurse and she instructed us to head to the emergency room immediately because it sounded as if Bryson was having an adverse reaction to his immunizations. Bryson had a small temperature, but the doctor said that was normal considering his immunizations, and after some Tylenol, Bryson seemed to be back to his smiley self!! Tony and I were so relieved to find out that Bryson was fine!! We definitely appreciate what a blessing a healthy baby is!! To make up for such a hard day yesterday, today we are having a lazy day that will be spent cuddling together!! :)
